We would like an iPhone app that emulates a part of our web site that allows the user to process gift and loyalty card transactions using an iPhone. The attached functional spec provides more details, but the app will allow the user to select a transaction type (e.g. Redeem a Gift Card) enter the card number and the amount of the transaction. When the sure submits the transaction, the app will send an https post to our web server, with the particulars of the transaction. Our web server will respond with an XML string that contains the Approve/Decline message, the expiration date and balance on the card. The app will need to be able to read a QR code to obtain the card number. The user should also be able to enter the card number manually. The QR code reader portion of the app does not have to be developed from scratch. If you can use functionality in OS, or call another app to read the QR code, that is perfectly acceptable.All aspects of the transaction process are defined by our XML-based API. That document will be provided to the person who select for this project.I have attached pictures of WebTerminal -- you will be creating an app that is a miniature version of WebTerminal, but keep in mind that it does not have to look exactly the same. iPhone Developers with experience working with credit card, gift card or customer loyalty apps will be considered front runners for this project. However, an experienced iPhone developer who has worked with http posts to web servers will also be considered.
