Rental Site I need a website built to bring people together to rent used items. It will operate exactly like http://rentstuff.com. I like their layout, etc. The main differences will be that regional Google maps will be available when people select an available region. The visitor or renter will select the region(s) available. These will be determined by the administrator and expanded over time. Most regions will be targeted by a city and include towns within a 30 mile radius. Here is the project: Web Design: We will provide the design. Any questions about the basic functionality: Check out http://rentstuff.com, this site should operate very similar to that site. Web-Based Platform: I would prefer to use an open source platform such as Wordpress or Joomla, or possibly an Ecommerce engine. Functionality Vendors: • Login/Registration: Both vendors and renters would need to register and begin the login process using Google, Facebook, Twitter, or new login criteria. Their should be a sign up column for Individual and Business, both - side by side Posting a Rental Item: Item Details The vendor login page would operate the same as: http://rentstuff.com/items. The categories and sub categories can all be the same as RentStuff.com. Options are the same. • Adding image When adding a photo, one has the choice of (1) finding a stock photo from Google images with the keyword already in place, or (2) browsing their computer for an image. • Video: Upload/Choose file from hard drive or Embed from YouTube. • Tags field • Quantity Posting a Rental Item: Preferred Pick-up/Drop-off Location Input field: Complete address Willing to Pay How much are you willing to pay: Field: Daily $ When Do You Need It? Please replicate the interface on RentStuff. Renter Functionality: Will choose from the categories as listed on RentStuff. Social Media Links There should be several ways to interact with social media. Here are a few ideas: • Login through Google, FB, etc. • After posting a rental, ask the poster to FB or Tweet the post. • After renting an item have rating system with multiple criteria with links to SN’s.
