Notice the map visualization there. We want to do that for real, in real time, with data driven from a database.

The tool we used for the demo is tripline. It is a software application built on top of google maps. Tripline doesn't expose a direct API, but you can import things from tripit, facebook, etc.

So, the challenge is to build the visualization in the video. You can use whatever web technology you think can do the job done cheaply. bonus points if you can use openstreetmap.org data with a customized set of tiles.

You will have access to these pieces of information.

Event (the thing that is mapped)
id
created_at datetime
ip address
(these fields are optoinal. if they are blank, use the ip address to estimate location)
address1
address2
city
state
zip
country

When you click on a location for a popup, you will have access to this data, and need to visualize it in a similar way to what's seen in the video.

Assume that you are given an ordered list of events for the visualization. we're still working on the backend, so we have to assume some things.

Please show examples of data driven map visualizations you have done before.
