I have recently created a website using Joomla 1.7. Also added DocMan extension to satisfy a business requirement for document management. It is working but I need a more elegant and useful user experience. Here is the existing situation and key business requirements related to the project. Current 1) Small check cashing business with multiple locations currently five. 2) Every site captures its daily financial business into an Excel Spreadsheert 60kb in size 3) At the end of each month, management compiles all Excel Spreadsheets into monthly financial document. Currently management copies the Excel Spreadsheets onto flash drives at each location to complete this task Desired outcome with Joomla 1) Enable registered users to upload their individual spreadsheets to our site hosted by cloud access.net 2) Each location should be able to upload, download or view their own documents but not the documents from the other locations 3) Management should be able to access and download the spreadsheets from all locations in order to complete the monthly corporate financials 4) Since every site will have a full month's worth of spreadsheets, managers should be able to select all files or as many as needed without having to download one at a time. 5) The user interface/experience should be as clean and easy to manage as possible because these folks are not extremely computer savy. So the organization of documents and folders should be good and the user experience should be intuitive. 6) We will want to store in one location general documents that all users can access As mentioned at the beginning, the Joomla site and DocMan are already deployed. However it is not as usefule as I want it to be both from a management and end user perspective. I'm looking forward to feed back from anyone interested in this project.
